My 4th of July 2010

So this fourth of July was definitely spontaneous in some ways. I had made plans with a couple of my friends to go to Brunch somewhere in Midtown (NYC) and that's exactly what we did. We met at around 12:30 pm (I woke up at around 10:00am and had a bowl of raisin bran cereal w/ organic skim milk before heading out!).
It must have been around 100 degrees by the time I left my apartment. Nonetheless, we made it there. I forgot the name of the place (sowy) but it had unlimited mimosas (for those who dont know this is a mixture of orange juice and champage). I tried REALLY hard not to have more than two as I am in this life journey to have everything in moderation whenever possible. In addition, it was super hot and alcohol usually makes us all hotter. So, I HAD to control myself.

Here is my yummy breakfast:

It was called "Bush Benedict". I didnt know it came with fries and bacon. So, I removed the bacon from the bread and my friend was very happy to eat the fries from my plate :). I managed to just have my eggs on the English muffin just how I wanted them. Very satisfying.
After our brunch we went to central park and relaxed for about 4 hours. We sat in the grass and joked/talked about our colleges days. It was a great time.

At around 7 PM we started getting hungry so we walked around town and found a really cool restaurant called the "Chirping Chicken". I had NEVER head of it. I asked for a Greek salad (w/ added chicken). I was expecting a small/moderate salad but here is what I got for about $8.75:

Trust me, I did NOT complain!! However, I only managed to eat half of this yummy salad and took the rest home.

After our great day together, we all departed towards our homes. When i got to my neighborhood I was surprised with some fireworks that a few of my neighbors were throwing (not sure if that's illegal) but it was truly beautiful!! Once at home I wasn't hungry. I watched some TV, relaxed and had some fruit before bed.

I definitely had a great time with my beloved friends. How was YOUR fourth of July? :D

  1. I love eggs benedict! Never had them served with fries, though - that is weird!

  2. OH man, that egg benedict looks so good! I'm glad you had an amazing fourth.

I spent mine with family and ended up barbeque-ing with friends the day after. That was delicious :)
