DAY 3 (This counting is getting to me!)

Hi everyone! Thank God is the weekend!!

So i made it to Friday with my eating plan and Im feeling good. However, my meals this past few days have been a little boring considering Ive been rushing from work to school and back. Hopefully this weekend I can make things a little bit more exciting.

Overall, i'm just happy to get in some healthy meals in to my daily hectic life. However, I dont want to get bored with what I eat so i'm going to start looking up some yummy healthy recipes for the weeks ahead. If you guys have any ideas please share!

For now, however, here is the lowdown for today:

*For breakfast I had the same peanut butter sandwich on a 100% wheat bread roll (Im trying to consume the bread before it expires...dont want that going to waste! I paired that up with some green tea and a medium fruit salad. I also had some coffee with 2% milk (less than 1/2 cup). *Though I took a picture but for some reason cannot find it in my camera :(

*Lunch was this delish homemade Tuna Sandwich I prepared last night plus some 100 calorie multigrain SunChips. This was eaten on my way to the mall to run some errands (ummm.....maybe I need to slow down). Once I got back in to work I also had a large apple:

My Mid-afternoon hunger alarm went off again (as it appeared to be the norm this past week). I had nothing else to snack on other than some mixed nuts from the "snack cart" at work--that was the only healthy thing in there (yes, we have a snack cart which should seriously be confiscated).

Note to self: BMOS (Bring My Own Snacks to work)

Ok..so, after work, which ended at around 5:30pm...I had some additional errands to run (yes the running around never ends!!). So, by 8pm I was still on the road and I'm STARVING. No idea on what I should eat.

...Sooo I found a Mexican spot at the mall and looked at the menu for what felt like an eternity only to find most of the menu items were over 600 calories! (side note: LOVE the fact that in NYC restaurants are required by law to post calorie content of meals...whoever came up with that idea deserves a nobel price or something).

After getting an annoyed look from the women taking my order, I decided for a chicken quesadilla which surprisingly was one of the items with the lesser calories. I only ate HALF of it (notice how im working out my self control muscle?... yayyy me ;)

To "balance out" the meal and not eat the entire quesadilla, I got myself a Non-Fat Late from McDonalds with no sugar. It was surprisingly really good (this was consumed on my way back home from an extremely busy day) :

I haven't done any "official" workouts this week but considering I'm just getting back on my feet with the healthy eating, im trying to do one thing at the time. I plan on starting on my workout plans next week and I'm excited for that. :D

Ive been thinking how lack of time with work and school have not allowed me to indulge in one of my favorite hobbies/passions (aside from blogging): Reading magazines!! I'm sooo backed up in my reading that, as you can see, I have doubles of the same magazine (June and July editions).

Perhaps I'll take some time off this weekend and spend some quality time with them...Magazines put a smile on my face.

  1. I dont' think I could have stopped at half of a quesadilla! Those are so yummy.

My garden brings me a lot of joy. I love to go out each day and see what new things have popped up.
